One must fill their gourd to 2/3 to prepare a mate, which is equivalent to 25g per mate. A 500g bag allows for the preparation of ~20 traditional mates and 70 mates in classic infusion. The mate is therefore much more economical than tea and coffee while possessing more virtues.

Important: Each mate can be re-infused about ten times.

The mate can cause undesirable effects if consumed in excess, like any caffeinated product. As long as mate is consumed in moderation (up to 1L of mate per day), this drink proves to be a true source of benefits.

As a precaution, it is not recommended for children, people with hypertension, and pregnant women (or those who are breastfeeding) to consume mate.

Our mate comes from Brazil, in the Paraná region. Before finding it, we traveled through Brazil and Argentina, the two largest producers of mate in the world, where we covered nearly 5000 km and met about ten producers. Why? To find an exceptional mate with a unique taste!

The vast majority of the market's mate is dried over a wood fire. However, this method is known to produce PAHs, toxic substances suspected of being carcinogenic in high doses.

Wood-fired smoked mates have a much stronger, raw taste. Drying without smoke allows for a much more balanced flavor.
