Our mate comes from Brazil, in the Paraná region. Before finding it, we traveled through Brazil and Argentina, the two largest producers of mate in the world, where we covered nearly 5000 km and met about ten producers. Why? To find an exceptional mate with a unique taste!
Yes, you can now find our products in more than 250 stores in France! Please note that the stores may not necessarily have all the references available in the online shop.
Known for its energizing benefits, mate is a plant that grows in the border region between Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil. Traditionally, mate is consumed in a mate cup (the gourd) and with the help of a filtering straw (the bombilla).
Step 1: Heat water to 80°C
Step 2: Fill your calabash two-thirds full with mate leaves and form a well with your yerba
Step 3: Place the bombilla while covering its end and then pour the hot water.
Traditional method
To prepare mate, you need a gourd, a bombilla, and mate.
The mate thermos is also a very useful accessory for re-infusing your mate at any time of the day, without having to reheat water.
Alternative method
Not a fan of the traditional method. In that case, the infuser is a must-have.
There are several types of mate gourds, but the most common are: traditional gourds with a pumpkin interior and stainless steel gourds.
If you want to discover mate, the best option is the stainless steel gourd, as it requires no special maintenance.
We do not recommend traditional pumpkin gourds, as they are very fragile. As for leather-covered pumpkin gourds, we recommend them for experienced users, as you need to cure your gourd before use.
As a precaution, it is not recommended for children, people with hypertension, and pregnant women (or those who are breastfeeding) to consume mate.
