2017-2018
In 2017, La Bombilla does not exist yet.
But the idea emerges as Jérémie travels through Latin America. In just over a year, he crosses Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile to finally... arrive in Argentina and Brazil!
And in Argentina, mate is a religion. Everyone drinks it all the time. You just have to walk for 5 minutes in the streets of Buenos Aires to understand that.
Dec. 2018 - Apr. 2019
At the end of 2018, we (Antoine and Jérémie) launched our first products to introduce mate in France. Verdict? Everyone feels the boost effect of mate. And yes, mate really gives you energy!
But... yes, because there is a but, we also face more divided reactions: "Oh, but that's super strong", "But it tastes like medicine!", "It's super dusty, we get it everywhere!".
The logical next step? We take two backpacks, 6 t-shirts, and two plane tickets to Buenos Aires, yes sir!
Apr. 2019 - Oct. 2019
For 3 weeks, we travel through Argentina and Brazil, meeting about fifteen suppliers and with 10 mates a day, what we can tell you is that fatigue is a word as meaningless as taking only 6 t-shirts for 3 weeks in 35°C in South America!
After 3 weeks of meetings, we finally find the perfect mate, a mate that stands out: organic, low in dust, fair trade, and with a taste halfway between tea and coffee.
Oct. 2019 - 2020
After months of meetings and research, we are launching a unique range in France:
Exceptional mate available in several flavors, accessories that are all more elegant than the others, and kits to discover mate.
Range that we have evolved throughout the year 2020 thanks to the valuable feedback from our customers: Transition from 250g bags to 500g, new flavors (6 currently), new accessories...
2021
Mate is great, but we must admit that the traditional preparation is not for everyone...
That's why we now offer the ideal accessory for all mate lovers, from those who have been drinking mate forever to those who are just discovering this beverage.
The infuser allows you to prepare mate in just a few minutes and with complete ease. Mate that is then easily transportable.
The little + ? The mate prepared in an infuser is much less strong than traditionally prepared mate. A boon for those who want to drink mate but don't like the bitterness!
